“ I'LL BE ON MY WAY ”
Words and Music by Keith McGavern

You tell me that you want to write
You want to make some harmony.
But when you talk my tongue I bite,
You’re only for yourself I see.

You sit there and tell me all kinds of things,
That you yourself don’t understand.
It’s not for me to spread your own wings,
This time you make your own stand.

So if I back away, you find I don’t say
Why don’t you sit down and take the time to play.
There’s things to do, instead of watching you,
So if you don’t mind, I’ll be on my way.

Please don’t think that I don’t care
I’m really not that kind of guy.
But when I find out you don’t want to share,
I look for someone who’s willing to try.

Maybe someday you’ll know what I mean,
When you reach that promised land.
Where all the problems you have it seems,
Will melt and become as sand.
